The ideal candidate for this role will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including providing security guidance to clients, conducting threat and risk assessments, maintaining strong client relationships, managing manpower and schedules, overseeing equipment, handling client complaints effectively, ensuring contract compliance, managing incidents and investigations, upholding the company’s disciplinary code, and conducting disciplinary hearings when necessary. They should also ensure adherence to company SOPs, manage health and safety, address security officer concerns, and follow BPC policies and procedures.

Additionally, the candidate should be available for after-hours duties, including attending meetings and handling urgent matters. They should possess extensive knowledge of security practices, both physical and logical, and demonstrate competence in PSIRA Grade A certification, have a Grade 12 qualification, and preferably hold firearm competency and a valid regulation 21 certificate. Managerial experience and familiarity with risk management, IT service disruptions, and access security control are advantageous.

Furthermore, the candidate should be confident in public interactions, bilingual in English and a South African language, capable of working under pressure, and ideally trained in first aid and fire-fighting. Strong communication skills, computer literacy (MS Office), and a willingness to undergo a polygraph test are essential. A clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record, as well as access to reliable transportation with a code 08 driver’s license, are required. Previous experience in the police or military investigative field and firearm competency in handguns, rifles, and shotguns are preferable.
