Position Overview:
The Account Manager role is a critical position within the Sales department, reporting to the Sales Manager. Based in Midrand, the primary focus of this role is to develop and maintain effective account plans, drive profitable sales, and foster strong business relationships. This role also emphasizes delivering customer excellence, building brand loyalty, and driving volume growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and implement new business opportunities to grow market share.
  • Customer Service: Ensure optimal service delivery and satisfaction for all accounts.
  • Account Planning: Create, review, and execute strategic account plans.
  • Account Management: Maximize profitability and maintain positive relationships with key accounts.
  • Asset Management: Manage company assets effectively, including merchandising equipment.
  • Order Generation: Facilitate order placement and oversee promotional executions.
  • Cash and Credit Management: Oversee account payments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Competitor Analysis: Compile and report on competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.

Skills and Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Familiarity with TSP (Trade, Shopper, and Customer) principles.
  • Ability to manage execution standards and merchandising tools.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High energy levels and a drive to achieve results.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Matric certificate is mandatory. A 3-year sales/marketing qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector within sales or marketing.
  • Driver’s License: Valid Code 08 license is required.
