Job description.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the operations of the slaughterhouse and to ensure that all aspects of slaughtering are maintained

Job requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF 4.
• Have good reading and writing skills.
• Able to communicate proficiently in English.
• Knowledge about operational framework of the slaughterhouse preferred.
• Fully knowledgeable about Islamic slaughter criteria.
• Must be a Muslim.
• Knowledge of health and contamination criteria at the slaughterhouse preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP, safety and security rules and regulations preferred.
• Able to take prompt corrective measures when necessary.

Duties and responsibilities

• Slaughters chicken as prescribed by religious law.
• Sharpens knife on whetstone or sharpening steel and washes knife.

Skills required

• Attention to detail.
• Willing to work overtime including shifts when required.
• Conflict handling.
