The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) is currently looking for a dependable and experienced driver to join their team in QwaQwa. This role involves more than just driving – it’s about making sure government officials and important documents get to their destinations safely, on time, and in line with department policies.
✅ Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Educational Requirement: Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification is required (a higher qualification is an added advantage).

Driver’s License: A valid and up-to-date driver’s license is essential.

Area Knowledge (recommended): Knowing the roads and layout of the QwaQwa area will be highly beneficial.

Vehicle Handling Knowledge: You should know how to:

Safely operate a government vehicle

Fill out and maintain a logbook for each trip

Understand the basic procedures around fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, and safety checks

Duties and Responsibilities
As the official driver, your day-to-day tasks will include:

Providing transport services for Traditional Affairs staff, including senior officials, to and from meetings, events, and site visits.

Handling the collection and delivery of documents, parcels, and packages to and from various offices, post offices, or other institutions.

Assisting with the distribution of internal and external correspondence in a professional and timely manner.

Ensuring that the vehicle is always in good condition by checking fuel levels, tire pressure, cleanliness, and scheduling regular inspections and services when needed.

Following all road safety and departmental regulations to ensure the safe transportation of people and goods.

Accurately recording each trip in a logbook, noting distances travelled, fuel usage, and destinations as required by departmental policies.
