General Assistant – Key Information

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for the General Assistant role, applicants should meet the following:

A Grade 10 (NQF 3) qualification plus one year of experience, or a Grade 12 without experience.
Must have good communication skills, both in English and in the local language of the store location.
A valid South African ID or legal work permit is required.
Must be numerate (able to handle basic math), physically fit, and willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with stock layout, labeling, pricing, and maintaining shelf presentation.
Provide excellent customer service by guiding and assisting shoppers as needed.
Help ensure store cleanliness and safety through daily maintenance tasks.
Follow Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) guidelines, and report any irregularities or safety hazards.
Promote Cashbuild’s values of integrity, reliability, and service excellence.
Support internal teams during stocktaking, deliveries, and stock movement.
