Requirements:
Applicants must hold a Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification. No previous experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent school leavers seeking to start a career in logistics, supply chain, or public administration. Training or exposure in asset management, codification, or procurement will be considered an added advantage.
Special requirements and skills:
Applicants must demonstrate sound knowledge of all MS Office packages, especially Excel and Word. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is essential. Candidates should possess analytical thinking, innovation, and strong problem-solving abilities. The role demands excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of reliability, and the ability to act with tact, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Duties:
Successful candidates will perform a range of provisioning administration functions in support of the operational and logistical requirements of their respective units. Duties include identifying and determining supply needs, processing demands, and ensuring the correct supply and control of goods, materials, facilities, and services.
Key responsibilities involve:

Receiving, distributing, preserving, and repacking stock for safe storage.

Issuing stock and completing related vouchers and registers.

Preparing and printing receipt vouchers, handling routine enquiries, and recording demands on stock sub-accounts according to CALMIS MMS procedures.

Maintaining accurate control of stock items to prevent loss, damage, or misplacement.

Monitoring inventory levels, updating stock records, and initiating replenishment when necessary.

Ensuring stores and storage facilities are kept neat, clean, and orderly.

Updating relevant directives, acts, regulations, and manuals related to provisioning processes.

Handling routine correspondence, filing, and maintaining records of internal activities.

Performing basic calculations, compiling statistics, and drafting letters, notices, memoranda, and submissions as required.
The position requires strict adherence to departmental supply chain policies and procedures, as well as an ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The incumbent will contribute directly to the efficient operation of internal logistics, transport, accounting, and depot administration systems.
