Responsibilities
Correctly keep records of all cargo loaded or offloaded
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report accidents
Computer packages:
• MS Word (Advanced)
• MS Excel (Advanced)
• MS PowerPoint (Advanced)
• MS Outlook (Advanced)
• Exposure to Fleet Management Systems, Planning Systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct supervision and evaluating the work of employees as a first-line supervisor
• Responsible to evaluate whether a vehicle meets environmental standards, whether a vehicle should be re-assigned to better meet the needs of the Organization, whether a vehicle should be purchased, leased or disposed of
• Administers vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition
• Create vehicle purchase specifications
• Monitor purchasing, operational and replacement strategies and practices for most cost-effective operation
• Oversees the on campus fuelling stations. Reducing the Fleet’s carbon footprint and environmental impact
• Responsible for all aspects of fleet maintenance and repair. Preventative and Corrective maintenance adherence tracking
• Ensure compliance with all road traffic laws, vehicle licensing and roadworthiness
• Vehicle tracking monitoring and ensuring discipline is taken against offending drivers
• Fuel management with various suppliers. Fuel monitoring and discipline for over usage
• Manages various fleet systems to keep the fleet running at optimum performance
• Reporting to Senior Management on costs, optimization, fleet numbers and other relevant stats pertaining to the fleet
• Vendor management with all suppliers
• Monthly SLA meetings with suppliers and ensuring that all agreed SLA’s are met.
• Ongoing cost savings initiatives related to fleet
• Contractor management
• Accident Management
• Contractor payroll
• Cellular management – managing all cellular and data contracts pertaining to the Organization albeit day to day operations and queries, monthly billings and management reports
