Subject: Advertisement of Two Hundred and Four (204) Learnership Opportunities for Learner Traffic Officers for a Period of Twelve Months.
- The Department of Transport and Community Safety wishes to invite the youth from South Africa across all race groups, especially Whites, Coloureds and Indians as per the Department’s Employment Equity Plan to apply for the learnership opportunities, which exist in the Department, as outlined on the attached Annexure “A”.
- Applicants are encouraged to register and submit their applications through the e-recruitment link at https://erecruitment.limpopo.gov.za. However, hand-delivered applications are accepted and must be submitted on the New Z83 application form obtainable from all Government Departments or can be downloaded from www.gov.za / www.dpsa.gov.za. No email or fax applications will be accepted.
Important Instructions for Hand/Mail Delivered Applications (Paragraphs 3 to 7):
- The new Z83 application form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant.
- A specific reference number indicated on the post applied for must be quoted in the Column “Reference Number” on the Z83 application form.
- All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise and the other will be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment.
- All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a security clearance and verification of qualifications and will be subjected to Personnel Suitability Check for security reasons.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the following to Human Resource Management offices on the day of the interview:
- Proof of Medical certificate as proof that a person is both physically fit and mentally stable to perform strenuous exercise.
- Certified copies of educational qualifications.
- Certified copy of Identity document.
- And a valid driver’s licence.
- All successful candidates will be subjected to strenuous physical exercise at the Traffic College for the period of twelve (12) months.
- Kindly note that no payment of any kind is required when applying for posts advertised in this circular.

Annexure A
Post 1: Traffic Learner Officer × 204 Reference Number: LDTCS L1/5/2026
Stipend: R70 383.00 per annum.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / National Qualifications Framework Level 4 or equivalent qualification as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority.
- The applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 35 years.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- No criminal record.
- Must not have any visible tattoos.
- Be medically, mentally and physically fit to undergo training programme.
- The applicants must not have been declared unfit to possess a firearm as contemplated in the Firearm Control Act, 2000 (Act No. 60 of 2000), or other relevant legislation.
Knowledge and Skills:
- The ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
