This large-scale recruitment aims to improve service delivery across several regions within the Metro. Overview of the Position

The General Worker positions fall within Salary Level 16/15, offering an annual salary ranging from R210,300 to R219,672 per annum. These roles are distributed across several directorates, including Community Services, Technical Services, Economic and Rural Development, and Corporate Services.

Successful applicants will assist in essential municipal functions such as cleaning, maintenance, refuse collection, landscaping, cemetery management, and other community-related services.

The 450 available posts are spread across multiple towns and municipal regions within Mangaung. The breakdown is as follows:

  • Dewetsdorp (20)

Sub-Directorates and Responsibilities

The General Worker roles are categorized across several sub-directorates:

  • Parks and Cemeteries: Involves grave digging, horticultural maintenance, and landscaping duties.

  • Solid Waste Management: Includes door-to-door refuse collection, public cleansing, illegal dumping control, and waste disposal management.

  • Roads and Storm Water: Assists in the maintenance of roads, drains, and stormwater systems to ensure public safety and accessibility.

  • Water and Sanitation: Covers work in water demand management, sewer purification, and vacuum services.

  • Other Services: Includes responsibilities at the Fresh Produce Market and public facilities.

These functions are vital for ensuring that Mangaung remains a clean, functional, and safe city for all residents.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess at least Basic Literacy (Grade 8). No prior work experience is required, making this opportunity ideal for individuals seeking entry-level employment.
