A Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for the SASSA SRD Grant

Before You Apply
✅ Am I Eligible?
You must meet the following criteria:

Be a South African citizen, refugee, or asylum seeker.

Be aged 18 to 60 years.

Be unemployed and not receiving any other government grants (some exceptions apply).
Gather Your Documents

South African ID number (or passport number for refugees/asylum seekers).

Valid cellphone number registered in your name.
Applying Online (Recommended)
1️⃣ Visit the Official SASSA SRD Website
2️⃣ Start Your Application
Click on “Click here to apply online.”
3️⃣ Verify Your Cellphone Number
Enter your number and click “Send SMS.”
You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP).
4️⃣ Enter the OTP
Type the OTP and click “Verify.”
5️⃣ Read and Accept the Terms
Review the grant terms and conditions. Click “Accept” to proceed.
6️⃣ Fill in Your Details
Complete the form with:

Contact information
-
Banking details (if applicable)
7️⃣ Submit Your Application
Double-check everything, then click “Submit.”
